on Ordinance No 14 of 1896.

Attorney General's Office, Hong Kong 20th July, 1896.

I have examined the accompanying Ordinance, entitled "The Ordinance to amend the Marriage Ordinance 1875",

and I am of opinion that the Ordinance is one which is not contrary to the Governor's instructions.

This Ordinance was approved of by the Right Honorable the Secretary of State for the Colonies in his despatch No. 99 of 1896, subject to certain alterations and additions which have now been made, and assented to in accordance with his instructions.
